Ezcap Usb Driver

For whatever it s worth to anyone. On an XP Platform am having the same problem using ArcSoft Showbiz DVD 2 with a Tevion High Speed DVD Maker USB attachment with SVHS and Composite Video Input and Left/Right RCA Phono Jack audio inputs. This all worked fine a couple weeks ago, and now can t get the audio to work. Tried everything I can think of, hesitant to go to unknown sites and potentially download something that could come with things I don t want. Contact ARCSOFT, plan is within the next few days ArcSoft to remote connect to my XP platform and see if they can resolve.

HOWEVER, in the meantime have a reasonable workaround; which is to use a standard 1/8 plug and connect either from my camcorder output, or earphone output, to my microphone input on my PC. Then select using Microphone from the standard audio interface/driver. However, couple points: 1. Make Sure Mic Boost is OFF in the sounds control panel, otherwise the audio is awful. 2. If using earplug as source on the camcorder, test adjusting the output video with various levels so your camcorder is set at an optimal audio volume for the earplug. You may also want to experiment with Microphone Volume settings. but be sure to evaluate based on the actual video recording, and NOT what you are hearing in Monitor condition as you are recording.

hi - I gave up with this software - I never did get the thing to work, but with other software I found that automatic updates my pc would stop the software from working, so I simply did a system restore back to a date before the item stopped working and lo and behold it worked, but of course if your pc is set to automatic updates each time the pc updates itself with new sound drivers or whatever a system restore is going to be needed to put the pc back to when the correct dowmloads allowed the software to work properly. I hope this helps. --- ps in reply to my post of Feb 16 2012 above I did indeed buy what I described with that version title from a seller ebay - I was conned probably and I never did get the thing to work, but it had a nice box.

Product Name: Pavillion 500-369

I have an ezcap video capture device that works fine on my windows 7 machine but will not work in windows 8.1. The software arcsoft 3.5 functions properly but will not let me select the video grabber as a source. The driver itself indicates not compatible with 8.1 and the there are no drivers out there that I can find to address this issue. Any known solution would be helpful.

Please note that changing registry items is always a risky thing and if you re not experienced/comfortable doing this then I would take it to a repair shop. I have yet to have someone tell me this fix though. I take no responsibility for damage done from my advice etc etc.

I had tried everything to fix the disappearing DVD drive, and it ends up the issue I had with Windows 7 was with AHCI. If you check the BIOS and you have installed Windows with AHCI enabled usually says SATA mode is AHCI - can choose between AHCI, ATA/IDE.., there is something that would need to be changed:

In regedit, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE System CurrentControlSet Services Msahci Start is set to 0, BIOS SATA mode at AHCI, and I had no DVD drive. Change the Msahci Start value to 1 and reboot; low and behold Windows detected my drive and I am off and running. It s been a thorn in my side for some time so I hope this post helps someone. Again, if you re unsure of editting the BIOS take it to a repair shop or send it in for repairs depending on your warranty status...

I would suggest you to contact at Dell for the latest drivers for your computer. Try to contact Dell at the below mentioned website -

There were no new driver at Dell - only a XP-driver available

It seems that the driver you are using is not supported and needs an update. It was just a coincidence that the driver was working before the windows update was performed. It would have surely created issues at some later stage. Also let us know which Windows Update did you install. Check for the Windows update at-

Click Start, Settings and then control panel all items view. Click on the Windows Update icon.

Click on view update history link.

To view the details of a single update select and right click on a listed windows update, then click on view details. Click Close when done.

Installed updates were KB976749, 975467, 975364, 974571, 974431, 974332, 974455, 973525.

You may want to perform the below mentioned steps and check if that resolves the issue –

Click Start, and then click All Programs.

Click Accessories, and then click Run.

The dell support is not a good help because the drivers still be the same since 2006, looking in the net for an update of the DVD RW or DVD ROM by the manufacture is imposible because the models are to old the only real solution to the problem is the edition of the registry or buy a new DVD ROM/ DVD RW and be sure that make a copy of the drivers in a USB flash drive or in a external hard drive or in a Sd memory card that will be the only ones that will be read by the motherboard because the drive files for the USB ports are part of the chip set and the chip bridge BIOS.All this is because free microsoft windows XP support will end in the 2014, windows vista in the 2016 whit the a posible support until 2017, windows 7 in the 2020 or early and by that time only windows 8 will be the only one that will be have an active support

The io_edgeport and io_ti drivers in the Linux kernel will work for all Inside Out Networks Edgeport devices.

There are a number of problems in the Linux USB Edgeport driver that was included in older kernel versions. Please upgrade to the latest 2.4.x kernel version to fix all known problems.

If you have multiple Edgeport devices in the system, you must upgrade to the 2.4.19 kernel or later.

The io_edgeportdriver currently supports the following devices from Inside Out Networks :

There are a number of Optware packages designed to handle audio or to convert multimedia data from one format to another. USB audio hardware is becoming more commonplace due to its use with Voice over IP softphone applications, and the video 4 linux project has done much toward making analogue video capture and webcam devices operate with the Linux desktop. It would appear that, once USB support is available, many packages are available to be tested on the embedded Linux platform.

Getting video back out, however, is no easy task.

One device which may be of interest is a USB hard drive enclosure with a built-in media player, such as the Mediasonic HM2-U2TV or others like it. Install a laptop HDD into this tiny device, connect it to your USB-aware router as network-attached storage and load it with images, audio and video files. Unplug it and connect it to your PAL or NTSC TV monitor as a self-contained media playback device. Note that the media player is deactivated whenever the USB interface is connected.

Another possible combination: a Dreambox DM500 dream-multimedia-tv.de and a NAS-capable Linux router on the same network. The DM500 s are Linux-based digital TV units they do not tune analogue signals. Having no built-in USB or storage, these depend on network-attached storage elsewhere on the LAN in order to provide PVR-like capabilities. Pair these with a Linux-based router such as the Asus WL-700GE which has a built-in 160GB HDD or any of the USB-capable devices which interface to USB hard drives and video can be stored and displayed without relying on access to desktop PC s and without going to the higher-end Dreambox DM7000 series which offers built-in HDD, USB, keyboard and flash memory support, but at double the price - a hefty premium to pay.

Multifunction printers a printer and scanner in one unit, resembling a small photocopier may be supported, depending on model. These may be treated as the individual portions - a printer and a scanner - although even an otherwise-incompatible device will normally allow just the printer portion to be used on a strictly pass-through basis through p910d even if none of the other capabilities are supported.

USB telephone-style handsets may or may not be Linux-compatible, with low-end models being more likely to be recognised as some Linux-compatible combination typically a standard USB sound card with perhaps a USB human interface device as the keypad. Higher-end devices often are locked to one provider by being tightly-integrated to Windows-specific drivers and/or the Skype softphone application, rendering them useless. For instance, the Linksys CIT200 is useless outside Windows, while the far lower-end Skype SK04 is a relatively-standard USB device which may be worth testing in a Linux environment.

Laptop USB docking stations typically provide some combination of a USB hub, an extra network interface, audio, serial/parallel ports, keyboard and mouse. Their compatibility varies depending on model; it may be necessary to determine which drivers are installed by manufacturer-supplied Windows discs for each of the individual peripherals in these bundled units and check availability of corresponding existing embedded Linux drivers before considering these for use. Some may work, some most certainly don t. Unfortunately, USB to SVGA interfaces in these packages are currently very proprietary and in no way Linux compatible - the one key stumbling block preventing a USB-aware network-storage device such as Linksys NSLU2 or a USB-aware router from being expanded to be a small but complete self-contained embedded Linux computer system.

As of dd-wrt v.24-final the Mega version has built-in USB support.

For v.24 versions with built-in USB support, using ipkg will retrieve the ipkg files from the default Openwrt WhiteRussian feed. These drivers may not work correctly with v24 which uses a more recent version of the Linux 2.4 kernel. An alternative is to see the forum post here. An archive is attached in the first post that contains some file system, usb, and usb serial drivers not included in the usb enabled versions of DD-WRT. These drivers need to be copied to JFFS or a USB_storage device and loaded using insmod from a startup script to enable these devices. NOTE: Some dd-wrt images have no common filesystems support ext2/ext3/ntfs/vfat, primilarly images for devices with tiny amount of flash 4MB or less so you have no ability to mount USB drive natively. If your JFFS allows this, you can store fs modules there otherwise you can use trick Mounting_USB_drive_without_located_onboard_fs_modules if your system has USB support.

Mock is a Python mocking and testing library. It has become a de facto standard and is now included in the Python standard library.

Lately IвЂ ve had the chance to work on a fairly large code base built upon a service-oriented architecture. In order to test each service in isolation, we make extensive use of Mock to simulate services that the code under test depends on.

During this process, we noticed that each member our team seemed to be hitting the same pitfalls, which IвЂ m going to present in this article in the hope that it might help other developers.

Patching in the wrong place

The first thing that puzzles people is when the patch method seem to have no effect.

LetвЂ s consider a very simple example where you have some kind of domain model object that uses a data source module to get data and return it to the client. In a real world situation, the data source module would query a database or an external service. For the sake of simplicity, here the data source just returns hard-coded values:

data_source.py def get_name : return Alice

The Person class exposes a method that fetches data from the data source:

person.py from data_source import get_name class Person object : def name self : return get_name

One might then start to write a test case that looks like this:

Unfortunately, the example above doesnвЂ t work as expected. If you run it with a testing tool such as nose, youвЂ ll get a result similar to:

The problem in the example above is that weвЂ re changing where the name get_name points to within the data_source module. However the code weвЂ re testing doesnвЂ t refer to get_name within the data_source module, it refers to that name within the person module.

Our patching would have worked correctly if the code under test had referred to get_name within the data_source module like this:

person.py import data_source class Person object : def name self : return data_source.get_name

If we want to leave our application code unchanged, weвЂ ll have to change the way we use Mock within our test so that it modifies where get_name points to within the person module:

Forgetting to patch the return_value

Another common issue is patching an object instead of patching the return value of that object. It is particularly easy to get trapped into this when patching objects deep down inside a chain of class instantiations and method calls.

LetвЂ s say Person has a relationship with Pet:

class Person object : def __init__ self : self.pet Pet other methods class Pet object : def noise self : return Woof

It might look natural to write a test like this:

patch person.Pet def test_dog_noise mock_pet : mock_pet.noise.return_value Meoow person Person assert person.pet.noise Meoow

This wonвЂ t work because a pet object is the result of instantiating the Pet class, which in Python means calling the class. We must therefore access the noise method via the return_value of the mocked Pet class:

patch person.Pet def test_dog_noise mock_pet : Here we need an extra return_value attribute in order to access the instance of the class mock_pet.return_value.noise.return_value Meoow person Person assert person.pet.noise Meoow

Patching decorators might also lead to some surprising behaviors. LetвЂ s say we have a very simple decorator that just logs the result of decorated functions:

decorators.py def noise_logger func : def wrapped self : result func self In a real-world scenario, the decorator would access an external resource which we don t want our tests to depend on, such as a caching service. print Pet made noise: , result return result return wrapped

Our domain model makes use of that decorator:

Now weвЂ d like to patch our decorator to make sure it doesnвЂ t call any external service we want to isolate from. Intuitively, we might write a test like this:

from mock import patch from person import Person patch person.noise_logger, lambda x: x def test_decorator : person Person assert person.pet.noise Woof

Unfortunately this wonвЂ t work at all because by the time we patch our decorator, it has already been applied and our noise method has already been wrapped. Here is what happens if we run our test with the -s switch, which tells nose to print stdout output:

nosetests -s test_person.py Pet made noise: Woof. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ran 1 test in 0.001s OK

This is because the decorator has been applied when the class definition was loaded, as soon as we imported the person module. Remember that instructions within a class definition are typically interpreted when we load the module containing the class. Consider this:

def useless_decorator func : print Hi, I m a decorator that does nothing. return func class Foo object : print Entering Foo class definition useless_decorator def bar self : return 42 print OK, we re done with that class definition.

If you execute this code with your Python interpreter, you should get this output:

Entering Foo class definition Hi, I m a decorator that does nothing. OK, we re done with that class definition.

I hope this silly example convinces you that decorators are applied when the class is created, which happens straight away when we load the module containing the class.

To deal with this you first have to make sure that your decorator is defined in a module separate from the class, otherwise youвЂ ll never get a chance to replace it with a mock before the class definition calls it. Then you need to write your test code so that it patches the decorator before it gets applied to the methods of your class:

from mock import patch patch decorators.noise_logger, lambda x: x. start from person import Person def test_decorator : person Person assert person.pet.noise Woof

Now if you run nosetests with -s, you shouldnвЂ t see any message from the decorator because itвЂ s been replaced by a lambda that does nothing.
